At Lightcliffe Academy, we are thrilled to see students receiving great results once again. The hard work and relentless commitment have paid off and our young people are leaving with a bright future ahead of them with opportunities that come with good grades. I am very proud of the ambition, focus and resilience our students have shown and the way they have risen to the challenge again this year.
As a school, we have seen success and sustained improvement across a range of subjects, but in particular, we are delighted with outcomes in Science, Computer Science, Design Technology, Engineering, Business, Dance and Sport where results have been very strong. We are also pleased to see that our pupils from more disadvantaged backgrounds have achieved good results and that we have narrowed the gap significantly; an improvement of almost half a grade compared to last year. This is excellent and provides these students with a firm foundation for continued success.
