Mr Worsnop is our Assistant Principal responsible for Care and Conduct and began this Senior Leaders' role in January 2025. He joined Lightcliffe Academy in September 2015 as Head of 6th Form PE, and throughout his 10-year tenure, he has been in a variety of different roles including Head of PE, KS3 Achievement Director, and his current role as Assistant Principal.
Mr Worsnop started his career teaching PE in Abu Dhabi and has had a previous PE teaching role in London. His true passion is his love for football, and during his Lightcliffe Academy career he has guided a number of our football teams to success including Calderdale League winners, Calderdale Cup winners and West Yorkshire Cup winners. His greatest achievement being the 2 consecutive National Cup Quarter-Finals we reached in 2023 and 2024.
Mr Worsnop believes that being respectful, responsible, and honest builds a positive reputation that follows our students beyond high school, and he is passionate about making sure that each and every learner in our Academy demonstrate the highest standards of behaviour in order to shape how others see them, including teachers, classmates, and future employers.
Outside of school, Mr Worsnop is an avid Leeds United fan and frequently attends games, he also plays both football and tennis competitively on a regular basis.
