A Level Results 2019

Lightcliffe Academy Year 13 students today celebrated their success when collecting their post 16 results, which again reflected their hard work, aspiration and endeavour. It is fantastic to see so many students able to move onto their chosen post 18 destinations; many students were delighted with their results with 60% going onto a University course of their choice and the others into apprenticeships or employment. There were many individual success stories including Sophie Haran, one of our Principal students, gaining grades AAB and going on to study her chosen course in the medical industry. Congratulations also go to Ellie Howorth and Adam Pilling who are the students that have made the most progress from their KS4 results. Ellie is going on to study Music Journalism at the University of Huddersfield and Adam is going to study Sport and Business Management at Leeds Beckett University. Jake Haynes also gained one of the highest average overall points scores per entry in his courses. He is going on to Liverpool John Moores to study Sport Psychology.

Overall this year, students’ average A level points score per entry has increased from the previous year, and for vocational and applied courses there was a huge increase in average points score per entry.  We wish all of our students the best of luck in the future, no matter what the next stage of their life holds in store for them. We look forward to celebrating their successes with them on presentation evening which will take place inDecember.
