General skills for life are essential for our students to progress and develop academically, socially and morally. Parents and carers play a vital role in nurturing values and beliefs, promoting positive and healthy relationships and encouraging children to be aware of the environment and community in which they live. We would encourage parent and carers to have open dialogue with their children about issues such as: citizenship, diversity, aspirations, careers, health and personal safety. This will help our students’ to understand the rights and responsibilities that guide their lives.
