This qualification is aimed at students who are in full time Level 3 education and wish to progress to higher education and/or pursue a career in business and business related subjects. It is a substantial vocational qualification which provides a broad and deep understanding of business knowledge and skills to support progress to higher education and is suitable for learning alongside other Level 3 and A Level qualifications. This course can also prepare students to take up employment in business and entrepreneurship: it develops the fundamental knowledge and skills recognized as most important by employers. Students are assessed not only on knowledge and understanding but on how these can shape their practical skills in beginning to realize their own plans about business. Students will learn about the way in which any venture in business is a function of the relationship between its people, its marketing, its finance and its ability to deliver operationally on its commitments. There is a great deal of cross over between the content of this course and the Business AS/A2 but it will suit you if you prefer to research topics based on real business practice and demonstrate your learning by carrying out real business activities. You will also need to be able to organise your own time and meet coursework deadlines effectively and consistently.
Assessment is through examinations, external assignments and centre set assignments. All work in Business Studies is assessed
against these 4 Assessment Objectives.
